Toddlers

(12-23 months as of 9/1)

The toddler program is focused on helping our youngest students transition into a school family. Our teachers provide opportunities for the toddlers to learn social skills, experience creativity, participate in language exploration and practice gross motor skills through our Baby Doll Circle Time.   We create a classroom full of music, manipulatives, sensory exploration and books.

Pre-K 2

(24-35 months as of 9/1)

Our Pre-K 2 classrooms provide opportunities for our students to explore and practice independence in the classroom. We offer play based activities developed from the Frog Street Press curriculum which incorporates language, physical, cognitive, and social-emotional development. These activities engage them in learning about the world around them while introducing them to academic concepts that will build a strong learning foundation.

During the second semester the Pre-K 2 students are introduced to the Handwriting Without Tears program’s songs and manipulatives.

Our two-year olds participate in the following special weekly activities:

  • Science Lab
  • Spanish
  • Ready Set Go
  • Music
  • Library
  • Chapel

Pre-K 3

(3 on or before 9/1)

Our Pre-K 3 class is a play-based program designed to begin building a strong academic foundation. These students engage in theme-related activities that include the introduction of letter and number recognition.

This class focuses on strengthening fine motor muscles through handwriting and scissor skills as part of the Handwriting Without Tears Program.

The Pre-K 3 program participates in:

  • Science Lab
  • Spanish
  • Ready Set Go
  • Music
  • Library
  • Chapel

They also go on field trips related to their themes. Our goal is for all Pre-K 3 students to love school and the process of learning.

Pre-K 4

(4 on or before 9/1)

Our Pre-K 4 class is an extension of our Pre-K 3 program with the goal of preparing our students to be successful in Kindergarten.

Our Pre-K 4 program is built upon the Saxon Early Learning Program, which is a comprehensive, fully integrated curriculum. The theme- related activities incorporate the following content areas:

  • Literacy
  • Math
  • Science
  • Social Studies

The students are introduced to the High Scope/Number Plus Math curriculum which actively engages the students in activities using a variety of materials and ideas which are aligned with both National and Texas Education Standards.

Our Pre-K 4 students also engage in self-directed learning centers that engage them in the process of learning through play. We continue the Handwriting Without Tears curriculum with the goal of developing their fine motor skills.

These students also participate in:

  • Science Lab
  • Spanish
  • Ready Set Go
  • Music
  • Library
  • Chapel

Theme related field trips are scheduled twice a year.

Kindergarten Program

(5 on or before 9/1)

Built upon the warm and loving environment of our preschool, our Kindergarten students will be challenged, supported and inspired to reach their full potential.

The Kindergarten curriculum is developed and structured around the Daily 5. The introduced activities stem from the Kindergarten objectives included in the Saxon Phonics and Math and Handwriting without Tears and the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills.

The Kindergarten students are actively engaged with the Science teacher in lab time in hands on science activities taught using the scientific method, relevant to their everyday world.

To enhance their learning experience each kindergarten student works individually or in small groups with a reading teacher to reinforce and strengthen the skills taught in the classroom.

Through activities that allow them to explore their individual capabilities and their role in the world around them, our kindergartners will build an academic foundation that will last a lifetime.

In addition to the classroom activities and playground time, our Kindergarteners will participate in:

  • Spanish
  • Ready Set Go
  • Music
  • Library
  • Chapel

Theme related field trips are scheduled twice a year.
